Wish You Were Here

Wow, brave stuff here. Basically what we've got is a live album from a slick, well-produced group from France. Not exactly the kind of group I'd expect to release a live album. But, their live show is suprisingly organic and their songs sound great in this format. Definitely not some dude in the back clicking "Start" on a prerecorded instrumentation track here... And as it turns out, the lead singer's voice is really that pure. The live version "If I Ever Feel Better" is fantastic. Looks like the band just started their first U.S. tour, but unfortunately are not coming anywhere near me. Oh, and it appears this live album will not be released in CD format in the US until February! Digital distribution rocks... no pressing time necessary!

hey thanks... figured I oughta jazz the place up a little now that I have some visitors that I'm not paying to pretend they're interested... ;-)

definitely enjoying all the sharing going on. you guys are inspiring me to find more and more great stuff out there. now if we can just get Merge records to put their stuff out on Rhapsody I'd be in total bliss...

I like the new logo too...

Also, how do you get the little icon to appear in the address bar?

I want a little radish.

Someone must be using Firefox, Mozilla, or Netscape... ;-)

You need to create a "favicon.ico" file and either put it in your root directory (or the directory where your scopecreep.com index.html file sits)for your webserver (which will put it on all your scopecreep.com sites). Or, if you only want it to appear on your Radish sites, create the file, put it anywhere you like and then include this text (with the brackets around it):

LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="https://www.mydomain.com/myicon.ico"

in the HEAD of your template HTML, obviously changing the URL to the location of your favicon file.

For more info you can go to http://www.favicon.com This site will tell you some ways to create the .ico file. I just use PhotoShop with a free plugin that will save in the .ico format. Just make a 16x16 image and save it in the .ico format.

hey chris -- you and robert blow me away as far as programming knowledge/skill. i'm like a monkey behind the keyboard by comparison. anyway, your blog looks great. and i agree -- i've also been enjoying the momentum we're collectively building behind the idea of blogging playlists.

as for merge, i don't know what the deal is. we've contacted them directly about doing a deal but things haven't gone anywhere yet. we're hopeful that they will offer their music to other services, now that they have done the heavy lifting to make at least some of their catalogue available via the itunes store. it certainly couldn't hurt for you to email them directly to ask (being local and all).
