5 bucks for a bottle of water?

In keeping with my "I can't just buy one CD at a time" disease, I purchased a 2nd CD while out to get the new Paloalto disc. They are called MINIBAR. Hadn't heard of them before seeing their disc in the store. Saw it on the new releases rack and was drawn to it for some reason. I put it back pretty quickly as there was a quote from Pete Yorn on the cover which is a definite strike against them in my opinion. But, the disc was on the Coalition of Independent Music Stores listenting station, so I gave it a listen. Interesting CD. Has an Americana quality about it, but the songs are subdued, melodic, and even poppy in places. Turns out the band is from the UK, but moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to immerse themselves in American, and more specifically California, music. The result is American rootsy music with a BritPop melodic sense. It won't blow you over but is very enjoyable and good for the hot nights of summer. MINIBARfans.com

pamela anderson's cleavage

New album out yesterday that I plan to get today. You can listen to some tracks on their website and what I have heard so far sounds great. I have their first album and enjoyed it a lot, but never really could get a solid feel for where the band would go. The record label really wanted them to be their next hitmaker, but it turns out their music was too interesting for that... So I didn't like all the songs on the first album, especially the single "Sonny." But now they're back after having been dropped by the label and saved by Rick Rubin and Island Records. Show your support and go out and buy their new album! I'll post my impressions in a few days. PALOALTO

a white guy called bleu releases redhead... how patriotic

I love Bleu and I love the released version of his album "Redhead." Big, bold, beautifully captured songs that are extremely addictive. But what at times may just seem like ear candy is truly deeply affecting and hearfelt... Give it a listen. Will surely be on my top 10 list for 2003. Right near the top currently. Bleu
